About the Role

As a core member of our legal function, you will provide critical support across a range of legal and regulatory domains, including data protection, privacy compliance, cybersecurity, intellectual property, commercial agreements, and corporate governance. You will work closely with our AI Compliance, Ethics, and Data Officer to ensure our innovative products remain at the cutting edge of compliance and responsible innovation. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with regulatory compliance matters involving the EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regimes.
• Support the legal function by proactively helping to evaluate and mitigate legal and
  regulatory risks inherent to the development of highly innovative products that blend AI and DeFi.
• Conduct legal research, manage contractual relationships, develop compliance
  documentation, and draft internal policies and procedures.
• Maintain legal databases and regulatory trackers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, risk, operations, and
  marketing teams to align legal strategy with business goals.
• Stay current on emerging trends in AI and blockchain regulation.

Candidate Profile

• You have an impressive academic background and 2-4 years of paralegal experience, working within a leading City or national law firm or relevant in-house legal team.
• You have a strong background in GDPR compliance with a demonstrated interest in AI and blockchain technology.
• You have strong legal research and drafting skills with the ability to manage your own workstreams in a time-efficient and proactive manner.
• You have excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• You are exceptionally organized and pride yourself on your high degree of attention to detail.
• You are a solution-oriented problem solver and a team player who understands the
  importance of building relationships within the business.
• You are an agile self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes under deadline pressure.
• You are comfortable working in a remote-first, high-growth startup environment.
• Passionate about the legal and ethical implications of innovative technologies.
